Samurai Spirits True Tale: Bushido Biography

Samurai Spirits True Tale: Bushido Biography is a role-playing game released in 1997 for the Neo Geo CD, Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation. The game was never released outside of Japan; a fan translation was released in November 30, 2023.

Main visuals and character designs were done by Shirou Ono. The insert song "Samurai na Yasu" was performed by Asuko Yamaoka and the ending song "Sora he" was performed by opera singer, Ken. A drama CD and two novels written by Rei Isaki were also made for this title.

STORY

And so the story begins...

The time was the 18th century, midway through the Edo period. The Tokugawa shogunate was at a stable stage, and people were enjoying a time of peace. However...

Even in times of peace, human desires and jealousy knew no bounds. These desires and jealousies soon became the seeds of conflict, and a hideous shadow of darkness fell upon people's hearts. This darkness awakened, nurtured, and fueled the demons within humans. Ironically, the darkness in people's hearts gave power to the demon world.

And so, at last, the terrifying hand of evil from the demon world approached...

Chaoter 1: Advent of the Evil Heaven

Over 100 years have passed since the Shimabara Rebellion, in which the blood of many Christians was spilled. Amakusa Shiro Tokisada, who was resurrected by a grudge against the present world, brought disaster to all parts of Japan and plunged the peaceful world into chaos. Haohmaru and the other samurai sense the presence of the demon Amakusa at the end of their journey...

Chaoter 2: Weeping of the Demon Flower

The samurai head to Izumo after receiving news from Kafuin Wachin, and there they learn of the resurrection of Mizuki, the shrine maiden of the demon world. In order to thwart Mizuki's plot to turn this world into a demon world and conquer it, the samurai pass through the gates of the underworld, the entrance to the demon world...
